Join us on a scenic hike at Breakneck Ridge in the Husdon Valley! If there is only one hike you make in the Hudson Valley, this is the one.
Often called ‘the most popular day hike in America,’ Breakneck Ridge is a challenging climb in Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve about 50 minutes west of Ridgefield. The trails on Breakneck Ridge test hikers of all ages with steep rock ledges and then reward them with sweeping views of the Hudson River.
Directions: Meet at parking lot at 11:00am
From the South:
Route 9D North out of Cold Spring, after you go through tunnel, park on either side of the road. We will meet in the large dirt parking area on the left.
From the North:
Route 9D South out of the City of Beacon, when road descends to river level, park on road. Meet in large dirt parking area on right. If you reach the tunnel you've gone too far.
What to bring: hat, water bottle, hiking clothes, sneakers, lunch.
